Duties
- Location Set Up
- Locator Set Up
- Calibration
- Locating / Marking Front, Rear, and Actual
- Locate Points Communicating Azimuth and Inclination
- Constant Communication with the Driller
- Daily Service of Equipment
- Running Tail Pipe
- Monitoring Mud Flow on Exit Side
- Misc. Daily Tasks
- Operation of Digitrak Eclipse Locators
- Prevent damage to equipment and assure that all locator equipment is properly calibrated and accurate
- Keep up with the daily maintenance of assigned locators and tracking sonds
- Excellent communication with crew members and co-workers
- Assist in ensuring that the rig and all equipment is adequately tooled and supplied for each project
- Complete daily footage requirements and keep a tally book of all locate points—record on profile logs for transmission of completed bore data to office for completion of required bore profiles
- Be trained in and proficient in the set up and use of surface pilot bit locators
- Maintain the proper level of personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
Requirements
- Must be proficient in the setup and operation of surface locators for guiding and monitoring pilot drill operations
- Must be proficient in logging locator pilot drill guidance data
- Must be proficient recording drill profile information
- Must be proficient in obtaining existing surface stations and elevations for drill profile data
- Able to effectively manage time and be productive
- Must have a current and updated Driver’s License
- Must have a positive attitude
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug/alcohol pre-employment test
